The Bernau Panzerkaserne in Germany, an abandoned clothing factory that produced military uniforms during WWII, is set to be redeveloped into an urban district. The complex, which was later used as a Soviet military base, had fallen into ruin and was covered in street art. The city of Bernau plans to construct around 2,000 homes, along with schools, shops, and residential complexes on the site. Construction is expected to start in 2021, with the project due for completion by 2031.
